Holidays Part 2 ~ Chirk Castle

On day 3 of our hols, we visited Chirk Castle, a National Trust Property.
We took heaps of photos because it was so inspiring with its old mullion windows, wonderful fireplaces and wickedly curving stone steps. We instantly thought of  Michelle who is currently making an amazing Hogwarts and who's attention to detail is perfect. I hope you will love these photos, Michelle ;)

Dean dressed up as a medieval kayos Knight

One of the wonderful fireplaces.

I loved the way the ceiling had aged here

The markings on this wall are 100's of years old, made by soilders sharpening their arrowheads on the wall!

The main entrance in, this is the 'Killing Gate' where attackers would get through the first set of doors only to find that they were trapped in a small room where they were attacked by arrows and  hot oil from above! EEk!!
The clock tower in the court yard.

And finally, a very tired looking Meg and Me!! Dressed up as medieval ladies, the dresses were hugely baggy and scratchy!

Chirk castle part 2 tomorrow - The library and the gardens.
