The Bear Makers Cupboard.....

To add some Christmas Cheer :)

Well, there it is, I hope you like it as much as I loved making it :) I think the little bear trying not to fall off the shelf is my favourite and I like the pile of felts and heart print ribbon too :) I am going to make a little wall shelf in this theme and then that is probably it for this year with the bears.....

But.... there's always next year.... and 2011 projects to think of!! Isn't it funny how sometimes something small will inspire and ignite childhood memories, thus sparking off the flicker of an idea for a bigger project and I'm thinking....

A Geppetto type workshop!! Remember Pinnochio? Who wants to make me a little Pinocchio for a swap??? LOL
Filled with hubby's furniture, old and battered tools, sawdust on the floor, leather books on the windowsill, a roaring fire for those long toy making nights........ there you have the idea for one of our 2011 projects :)

Don't worry, the other project will be wizard based, I'm not giving up making witch minis :)

This Bear Makers Cupboard is available for sale, please email me for details or look out for it in my Etsy Store tomorrow night :)

Have a great day, I am off to see Harry Potter in the cinema now :)

'The Bear Makers Table' ~ finished at last :)

I am so pleased to be able to share this with you all at long last... it has been a long time in the making, but I am absolutely thrilled with it.

May I proudly present....

The Bear Makers Table

Hand made by hubby, from Meranti hard wood, this table measures in at the grand old length of 25cms long by 7.5cms wide. It is a grand table with the edges carved and notched out and patches of worn wood where the bear maker has been busy with his craft.

I have spent hours (too many to dare count!!) making all the little individual bits and pieces for the Bear maker. There are tiny cut out patterns of bears, placed ready for the bear to be cut out of felt. There are little half made bears, some just needing their noses and eyes and then are some all ready to be popped in Santa's Sack.

There are glass jars of 'Bear Eyes' and buttons....
Spools of cotton and wooden jars of 'Paws' .....
Ribbons and bows....

A little Christmas tree and a plate of mince pies to keep up the Christmas cheer...

A Santa's toy list and a pocket watch to keep an eye on that all important time!

On the shelf under the table, there is a stack of books, felt sheets ready for bear making, a wooden bowl of cottons, a rag doll, fabric bolts and lots of bear stuffing

I have loved making this table and I have told Hywel he's not having it for the Christmas Cabin anymore!!!

The table also comes with a matching wooden bench....

and it is up for auction here :)

I hope you all love it as much as me.. I think the little floppy eared, pink nosed bear leaning against the Christmas tree is my favourite :)
