At long last, Number 3 Ivy Cottage is finished and ready to go into our Etsy store. The feedback we had via comments and email for the design of our Wizards and Wands Bookstore was the inspiration for this cottage, so Hywel has made Number 3 Ivy Cottage into an old slightly battered run down Tudor building, perfect for a wizard's shop or witch's cottage.
Whats that inside?.... of course Gertie had to try it out first!!
Hope you liked it, I loved the chunky oak fire surround, and the little inset step the best :-)
Sorry for the lack of words, but I am a bit poorly at the moment and everything I tried to say kept sounding all gobblygook, so I have kept it simple today :0(
Oh and Gertie is back in her corner of the dresser, she doesn't get this cottage!!

Wow number 3, Hywel must be exhausted, well done!! This is the perfect witchy retreat, Im sure gertie would love to move right in but she must wait right! I have to apologise Julia as when choosing my witches name I kept thinking I musnt have Agatha as I knew Julies doll she made you was called that but completly forgot about your Gertie and chose the same name!! So now mine will be known as Gertrude Mc Hagood instead. It must have been in the back of my mind what a great name it was and I had heard it somewhere before but didnt put 2 and 2 together sorry!! Good minds think alike ! Hope someone has a very happy witch soon and snaps this up! Kate xxx
ReplyDeleteYou don't need words here, Julia - it speaks for itself!! It's a wee marvel!!

Hi Louise, Lovely to see you here :0)
ReplyDeleteHi Kate,
Hywel is well pleased with all the great comments :0)
I love number 3 aswell! It's a shame I couldn't get the lighting right today, it looks better in RL than in the pics, but I took loads and the colours were all coming out too bright and I was feeling worse and worse, so I gave up trying to tone the brightness down. I was going to use this one for Gertie, but in the end decided to go for a different style and I promised Hywel I wouldn't nab it. Now it's finished, I love it! I just hope Gertie's turns out as well as this one!
2 Gertrie's on the blog, thats great :0) Sometimes names just stick and thats what they have to be, don't worry, I don't mind at all and no apologies are neeed, as you said, great minds think alike! :0) lol I love the Mc Hagood surname :0)
