'Gertie spends her days concocting potions. Shh, but she's not very good at it, mostly they go fizz, pop, bang and end up being flushed down the sink! Have you seen the colour on that stream running under the greenhouse?! Bet that's where the sink empties out! But..Gertie does get at least one a day right and she then stores them in her old Potion Cupboard, along with bundles of fabric, old scrolls and papers, the odd letter or two, oh and a couple of strange looking head jars!'
Do you remember the wonderful cupboard I bought with my birthday money from my daughter this year at Miniatura? Well, a couple of months ago I varnished it but had got no further, until today ;0)
I have been busily working away putting all my wonderful potion bottles, bolts of fabrics, old letters and scrolls, etc in the drawers and on the shelves.
Come with me and take a peek inside.....
What do you think? I'm really pleased with it.... it's very Gertie.... a little scruffy and worn around the edges, but lovely all the same :0)
This is a pic at night, you can just see the glow in the wonderful jars by Midnight's Dreams These jars are truly fabulous and I can't praise them enough, if you click the above link you will go straight to her Etsy store. Also on the shelf is one of my little pots with some old papers sticking out and a bronze jar and some of the wonderfully 'aged' papers that Janice made me in one of my swaps.
There is also a strange looking jar head that one of the children made one sunday afternoon last winter.
Gertie has stashed a jar of biscuits on the top shelf for when she gets a tad hungry!
On the door, I have hung the great little felt bag that Michelle made me and I have popped a little halloween skull rattle and a little spell book in it.
Here it is in Gertie's cottage. I really enjoyed putting this one together, I can't wait to make a good start on Gertie's potion making greenhouse now. Hywel is making the long greenhouse tables for me as I type this post :0)

The cupboard is amazing Julia, I love the colour of it and youve filled it with such attention to detail for Gertie. Youve inspired me to get off my butt and do some minis so thankyou! I cant seem to get into gear at the moment, have lots of new things to play with but cant seem to find the time in the holidays. Off to play with something for my own Gerturde now I think!! Kate xxx
