Whilst rooting through my 'Lights' tin this week I found a red fireplace bulb. Now, I don't have any lights in Wizards and Wands yet, it was something that I was going to get around to doing and never did.... until this week that is, they are now on order :) Anyway, I popped the fireplace bulb in and took some photos, which turned out to be quite atmospheric, so I thought you might like to see them :0)

As the sun rises and comes through the window...

Beautiful pictures! They are so atmospheric! I love to photograph the lighting in my dollhouses... it is hard to get the balance of light and dark just right! You have done a great job! I love the shop with the hearth and all those piles of books.... very inviting!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, looks so cosy! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat pics Julia! please tell me you took hundreds and hundreds before getting these great results?.... it always takes me far too long to get the kind of 'moody' shots youve acheived, I could do with sitting by that inviting fire right now cos Im freezing !! x
ReplyDeleteLOl Wendy :0) I did take about 48! Lots went into the recycle bin :0)
ReplyDeleteI am freezing too, but I am too mean to put the heating on for myself, have to wait until the kiddiewinks get home from school!

I love interior shots with the lighting on - there's nothing quite like it and the pics you've chosen really set the scene.
ReplyDeleteMe, I'm working on getting the pictures straight!
Lighting adds so much to a house! My haunted house looks amazing lit as does my Potter house, I just need to fathom out how to take it so ti shows up in the dark. My camera always turns it light!! Great pics Julia, xx
ReplyDeleteHi Kate,
ReplyDeleteI took mine in the afternoon with the sun behind it coming through the library windows. The fireplace light was on, nothing else. I position myself low down, so that I am looking up at the room to be photographed and I have my macro on and my flash off. Out of roughly 48 pics, I got 5 or 6 usuable ones!! You can tell I'm bored being stuck at home LOL
Hope to see some pics of yours soon :0)
